FOXX INTERVIEW
Foxx says his career is more than “Wipe Me Down,” talks about new project, Man in the Mirror
Trill Entertainment rapper Foxx made his national debut with “Wipe Me Down,” which had a subsequent remix that featured label mates Lil Boosie and Webbie. Though his popularity within the game hasn’t eclipsed those of the currently incarcerated rapper and “Mr. Savage Life,” Foxx’s grind hasn’t stopped as he works on a follow up to his debut Street Gossip.
On WAX: How’s it going today?
Foxx: I’m coolin, I’m coolin. I’m on the road busting these shows out trying to get this album done.
On WAX: What have you been up to post “Wipe Me Down?”
Foxx: Man shit, music!!! Mixtapes! Getting these mixtapes done and the album. Pretty much music. I’ve been doing my performances and putting my all into it.
On WAX: So what are you doing to make sure that you don’t become a “one-hit wonder?” Do you feel any pressure?
Foxx: Getting something from everybody. Trying new stuff music wise. I’m not worried about the pressure because I know that I can come harder than “Wipe Me Down.” For the simple fact that before the song came out, I didn’t even like the song. I had harder songs than that which didn’t even go on my album. So, I know I can come harder than that.
On WAX: You have a new album in the works. Talk about that for a moment.
Foxx: It’s called Man in the Mirror. Expect what you heard on Street Gossip, but a little something for everybody. I don’t even go to the studio with one thing on my mind … not one particular cloud. I have something for everybody. It doesn’t matter what you’re going through, what gender you are, what race you are; something on there is going to catch your ear. That’s how I’m going to come every time. Something for the church people, freaks, everybody.
On WAX: Are you working with any producers? Changing anything about your sound?
Foxx: Nothing has changed too much about my style but I am working with different producers. So, my next album may sound a bit different from my debut because the production on my first album came from Trill; mostly, Mouse. But I’m working with different local producers. I put it on my Twitter that I was looking for beats and I ended up with beaucoup beats sent to my e-mail and a lot of them were some hot tracks. So, I’m pretty much going in that direction. The way I go at lyrics are still the same though.
On WAX: Where did the idea to go to Twitter for beats instead of looking for already established producers come from?
Foxx: Because at the end of the day, if I was to buy a track from Mannie Fresh for $40,000, a song that didn’t work, versus me getting a beat for free or $500 and it not work, I’d feel a lot better. For example, “Wipe Me Down.” That song didn’t pop because Mouse produced it, it popped because it was a hot song. That’s the way I look at it. TO READ THE REST CLICK HERE

PROSECUTORS SAY TEEN STALKED "CHRIS NUSSIE JACKSON" PRIOR TO MURDER
The teenager accused of killing at least two people on behalf of rapper Lil Boosie, allegedly stalked one of his victims, rapper Christopher “Nussie” Jackson, just before the murder.
Prosecutors claim that Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding shot and killed Nussie, on behalf of rapper Lil Boosie.
Although Lil Boosie has not been charged with Nussie’s murder, he has been charged with hiring Louding to shoot and kill a 35-year-old man named Terry Boyd, in October of 2009.
During Louding’s trial for murdering Nussie, prosecutors revealed evidence that the rising rapper was stalked, before he was gunned down by Lil Boosie’s associate.
According to The Advocate, surveillance camera footage revealed that Louding was lurking in a Shell Gas station while Nussie was inside with his friends, between 10:50PM and 11:10PM, in February of 2009.

CONNIE HATCH : THE TRUTH ABOUT LIL BOOSIE PART 1 0F 3
Connie Hatch’s calm, focused. After a long first day back at work she stepped through her doorway right at dusk. As the dean of students at a middle school, her hands are full every day. The heat index is 102. Cold air from the inside is a welcome. She sat comfortably on her couch with a cool linen pant suit on. You would think Ms. Hatch would be worried, pacing the floor. Sometimes when people go through troubling situations they break down, panic and lose the things they do have going right for them.
“I read my bible and pray a lot. I hardly look at the news,” said Ms. Hatch. “I just distract that from my mind. I read my bible and go to grad school at night. I make sure all my grandkids are in school and do the best that I can.”
Heavy Burdens
She’s currently going through one of the toughest times in her 57 years of life.
Her son, Torrance Hatch, rapper Lil Boosie is on 23-hour lock down in the infamous Louisiana State Penitentiary, Angola. He’s facing a first-degree murder charge. If convicted, he could face the death penalty on charges stemming from the October 2009 murder of Terry Boyd.
While the rapper sits behind bars, the East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s office is investigating five other murders to see if they link to Boosie. It’s alleged that he hired Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding who was only 16-years-old at the time as a hit man to do the killings.
To add to his rap sheet, on May 25th, The Advocate reported that Boosie was accused of trying to get codeine into the prison by state police. He is serving time on an unrelated drug charge, the paper reported.
“He and I talked about it. The lawyers talked about it. He’s saying that it was a set up,” said Ms. Hatch. “Now the lawyers have this case in their hands. I really don’t know if it will hurt his case.”
Pictures of Boosie and his children line her living room walls. A poster size framed picture of Boosie with four of his kids sat on the floor. In them, he looks like Torrance Hatch, the man. A father of seven with a genuine smile on his face that only holding his kids on his lap can give him. He doesn’t look like Boosie, the blinged-out gangster rapper.

CONNIE HATCH : THE TRUTH ABOUT LIL BOOSIE PART 2 0F 3
Hatch vs. the D.A. and location, location, location…
On his mixtape ‘Gone ‘Til December’ the rapper used it as his therapy and let off steam on the tracks, airing out everyone who must have been bothering him. At the 2:25 mark on track 13, “F**k Em’ All” Boosie raps, “F*ck the D.A. Hillar Moore, Your racist a*s is going to hell, You’ll probably be dead when I come out of jail, ya old b*t*h. Your d**k can’t even get hard no more, b*t*h you need to die.”
The district attorney, Hillar Moore has said there’s no beef against Boosie’s lyrics. Boosie’s lyrics has said otherwise. Ms. Hatch thinks Boosie’s being treated unfairly because of his location and profile as a rapper.
“He (Hillar Moore) has said on his interviews that he has nothing against Torrance Hatch. But you know what, this is Louisiana. Lou-i-si-ana,” said Ms. Hatch taking consideration to enunciate every syllable in ‘Louisiana.’ I have nothing against Hillar Moore, the judge; you have to be fair to people. This is not 1954, this is not slavery you do not judge a person on lyrics, you do not judge a person on color. I don’t want them to put Torrance on a high pedestal. I want him to be treated fairly and he will be treated fairly. If it takes the last breath of Ms. Hatch to stand up, he will.”
What About Your Friends?
You know who your friends are when you’re down and out. In May Ms. Hatch did an interview with DJ Drama in Atlanta. Since then the website boosiejustice.com was created and fans can send donations to the rapper’s legal fund. Other than fan support Ms. Hatch said no other rapper has came to her support besides Young Jeezy.
Boosie has been on songs with a long list of rappers: Lablemates, Foxx, Webbie, Phat, and Lil Trill; other stars include Trina, David Banner, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Plies, Akon, Baby Boy Da Prince, Ace Hood, Mr. Magic and more. No one even called.
“No. Not one. Not one rapper. The only person I have spoken with is Young Jeezy,” Ms Hatch said. “I heard from him but he hasn’t done anything as of yet. But the rest of them, you hear from them, but when you call them, they know my number so they don’t respond. My child was not like that. He gave to everybody.”
